A New School Year Begins

The new school year is off to a great start at Saint Catherine Academy! Students have returned with bright smiles, ready to learn, grow, and belong in a community where they are supported and celebrated. The halls are filled with noise and laughter as students reconnected with friends and teachers, eager to begin another school year.
Each day is full of engaging opportunities. In the classroom, students are diving into lessons that cover sorting and matching, reading, math, and life skills. Beyond academics, they are exploring creative arts through art, music, and movement classes. “When I am at school, I like to sing,” said Ian, expressing his excitement for this school year. Lunchtime conversations and outdoor play in the playground are also helping students strengthen friendships and encourage teamwork. “I am excited to play with my friends on the playground,” said Frank.
Vocational experiences are also back in action, giving students opportunities to practice real world skills. Whether assisting with classroom jobs, working in the kitchen for Halo’s café, or tending the gardens, students take pride in their independence and contributions. “I am happy to be back at school and to see friends of mine. I am excited to help in the classroom and help other students,” said Anna.
This year, we are happy to welcome a new student, Lucas, who has quickly become a part of our Saint Catherine Academy community. We are excited to see his growth and help guide him as he learns and builds friendships.
Teachers and staff are equally enthusiastic about the year ahead. “It has been a wonderful first week of school, with all the smiling faces back in our classrooms. Faculty, staff, and families alike are all ready to work together for another great year ahead!” said Lisa Lanni, Director of Education. With such a positive start, this year will be filled with growth, achievement, and memorable moments.
